Wilma Henrietta Hornsby, 99 years old, passed away at Meadow Lane Assisted Living in Bad Axe, Michigan on Monday, April 18, 2022 with her family by her side. Wilma was born in Wyandotte, Michigan on March 11, 1923 to the late Carl and Fredericka (Lutz) Witt. On January 30, 1947, Wilma and Harry Hornsby were united in marriage. He has preceded her in death.

Wilma previously resided in Southgate Michigan, and met her husband while working as a stenographer in Wyandotte, Michigan.  She was a member of St. John's Evangelical Reformed Lutheran Church, and was very active in many of the church activities.  She enjoyed reading Danielle Steele books, doing crossword puzzles, was an avid watcher of Jeopardy , Wheel of Fortune, and the Golden Girls, and Wilma loved to go shopping for shoes and purses .  She and her husband enjoyed traveling together, taking cruises and seeing places such as Las Vegas, Hawaii, and Florida.

Wilma is survived by her daughters Patricia (Larry) Hofmann of Sandpoint , Idaho and Claudia (Richard) Trowhill, of Bad Axe, Michigan, grandson Matthew (Lisha) Hofmann,  great grandchildren Kaiya Hofmann, Rowan Hofmann, and many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her brothers and sisters- in-law Herbert (Hope Sarah) Witt and Earl (Alma) Witt.

A private memorial service will take place for her family at Michigan Memorial Park Cemetery in Flat Rock, Michigan.

Memorials may be offered in her name to the American Cancer Research Fund.
