William F. Sanford, 90, of Ubly, passed away on December 7, 2021 at McLaren Macomb Hospital in Mount Clemens, Michigan.

He was born in Garden City, Michigan on January 18, 1931.  His parents are the late Homer and Nora Sanford.

Bill worked on a farm for many years before working for Halfway Fence Company as a supervisor.  He also was the chef at the Moose Lodge in Rapson for many years.  Bill enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

Bill is survived by his sons: Bill D. Sanford (significant other, Eva) and Brad Sanford, both from Hersey, Mich.; his daughter: Brenda (Dan) Dufoy of Clair; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  He is also survived by his significant other, Pauline Messing of Ubly; sisters: Sally (Warren) Manning, Marilyn (Mal) Erickson and Wynetta Ball and brother: Tom (Shirley) Sanford.

He was preceded in death by his sons, Bruce and Berry Sanford; step-son, Rick Bailey; and sisters: Gerry Kanya, Helen Sanford and Noreen Sanford.

Funeral service for Bill will be at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at the MacAlpine Funeral Home in Bad Axe.  Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until time of service.  Cremation will take place after the service.

Masks will be mandatory at the funeral home.

Memorials may be offered to be used at the family's discretion.
