Walter P. Miller, 77, of Hume Township, passed away on May 26, 2021 at Covenant Hospital in Saginaw.

Walt was born on December 15, 1943 in Dwight Township to the late Andrew and Regina (Levine) Miller.

He graduated from North Huron High School in 1962.  Walt married his high school sweetheart, Judy M. Elliott, on August 17, 1963 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Dwight Township.  They were married for 57 years.

Walt was a lineman for Detroit Edison for many years.   He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and watching all of the Detroit sports.  In the summer time, he enjoyed cutting firewood for all the campers.

He is survived by his wife, Judy Miller of Port Austin; his children: Janet Quaine of Westland, Robert Miller and his wife, Kim, of Auburn, and Sandra Miller-Osontoski (Matthew Prudden – fiancé) of Madison Heights; grandchildren: Brooke-Lynn Osontoski, Nicole and Daniel Quaine, Ryan and Andrew Miller, and Jacob Prudden; and one great-grandson, Benjamin Lewis.  Walt is also survived by his sister, Mary Ruth of Port Austin along with many nieces and nephews.

Walt was preceded in death by his grandson, Patrick Quaine; his brother, Karl (Margaret) Miller and his brother-in-law, Michael Ruth.

A gathering will be from 2 to 8 p.m. on Monday, June 7, 2021 at the MacAlpine Gage Chapel in Kinde.

A memorial mass will be held 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Port Austin with Fr. Craig Carolan officiating.

Memorials may be offered to the Tears Foundation ( https://thetearsfoundation.org/ ) or to the Huron County Relay for Life.
