Obituary

Steven W. Bomers, 70, of Port Crescent, passed away on November 11, 2021 after an extended illness.  He was born in Bad Axe on July 6, 1951 to the late Ned and Dorothy (Foster) Bomers.

Steve attended Bad Axe Public Schools, Alma College and Northwood Institute, earning an Associate's Degree in Business.  He worked for many years in sales and delivery of auto body parts and also followed his father's footsteps to operate the Wade Foster business of welding and metal fabrication.

He will be remembered as a proud curmudgeon, a staunch conservative who loved to talk politics; a golfer and one who enjoyed time in his much-loved woods.

Steve is survived by his sister, Claire (Tom) Logan of Port Austin; his brother-in-law, Michael Knowlton of Lacanto, Florida; his three nephews: Jeff (Dawn) Knowlton of Whitehall, Scott (Julie) Knowlton of Muskegon and Seth (Jaclyn) Knowlton of Muskegon; and six grand- nieces and nephews.  He is also survived by his loyal friend, Art Crandall of Bad Axe and his cat named "Cat".

He was preceded in death by his sister, Rebecca Knowlton.

In keeping with Steve's wishes, cremation has taken place at Sunset Valley Crematory in Bay City.  There will be a private burial at a later date.
