Rodney Nelson Rice , 66 years old of Kinde, passed away at his home March 23, 2023, with his family by his side. Rodney was born to the late John E. Rice and Loree A. (Mousseau) Rice on August 11, 1956. He married Monica Goretski on June 9, 1977 and they were married for 45 years, raising their two daughters together.

Rodney worked for many years at Tower Automotive, he enjoyed fishing and was proud of winning the Walleye fishing contest. He was always busy, even his stroke didn't slow him down from hauling wood and tending to his garden. He enjoyed spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren. They enjoyed many hours sitting around a campfire.

Rodney is survived by his wife Monica; daughters Christina (John) Krebs III, Keri (Ryan) Tenbusch; grandchildren Isabella and Brooke Tenbusch, Jack and Ava Krebs; several nieces and nephews; brother Nelson Rice. He was preceded in death by his brother Gary, an infant brother; sister Nancy Ann; and sister-in-law Sharon Rice.

The family will have a private memorial service at a later date.

Memorials may be offered to the Sanilac County Humane Society in Rodney's name.
