Richard Lee Scott, 82 years old of Bad Axe, formerly of Caro, passed away peacefully on August 26, 2025, with his family by his side, at the Huron County Medical Care Facility.

He was born on August 31, 1942 in Fairgrove, Michigan to the late Elmo and Bertha Scott. Richard and Shirley Schad were married on September 3, 1983. Richard served 2 years in the United States Army in Korea, and then worked for Grede Foundry for 38 years.

Richard is survived by his wife Shirley, daughter Cynthia (Aaron) Ozbat, son Richard Scott Jr. and sister Joyce McKenny; grandchildren Justin, Marisa, Elijah, Shaely and Marcus. He is also survived by his other family; Brenda (Ked) Miller, Ron (Waynette) Kiehl, Terry Kiehl, John (Patricia) Kiehl, and a special niece Shelly Bachman.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter Laura Davis, grandson Jesse Ozbat; brothers Allen Scott and his wife Goldie, Bert, William, Charles and his wife Marlie Kiehl.

Funeral service for Richard will be held on Friday August 29, 2025 at 11:30 a.m. at MacAlpine Funeral Home in Bad Axe with Chaplain Richard Barriger officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:30-11:30 at MacAlpine Funeral Home.

The family wishes to extend a grateful Thank you to the Medical Care Facility for the excellent care and compassion given to Richard during his stay.
