Phyllis Alta Koenig, age 93, resident of Bad Axe and formerly of Harbor Beach and Southfield passed away Friday, June 20, 2014 at Courtney Manor Nursing Home in Bad Axe.
She was born July 30, 1920 in Port Hope to the late Albert and Irene (Priemer) Schmucker.
She was united in marriage to Elmer Koenig in August of 1953. He preceded her in death September 1999.
Phyllis was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Harbor Beach. She enjoyed visiting with her family and friends. She also enjoyed cooking and spending time outside and loved animals.
She is survived by her granddaughter, Sarah (Adam) Russell and grandson Joshua from Ubly.
Phyllis was preceded in death by a daughter Carole Koenig.
As requested by Phyllis, cremation has taken place at Sunset Valley Crematory, Bay City. A private burial will take place in Rockfalls Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements are being handled by MacAlpine Funeral Home in Bad Axe, MI.
