Nicholas V. Heilig, 94, of Huron City, passed away peacefully on September 20, 2020 at Medilodge in Cass City.

Nicholas was born in Minden City, on September 19, 1926 to the late William and Margaret (Oswald) Heilig.  He was one of 21 children.

He was a farmer all of his life.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family.

Nicholas is survived by his siblings: Catherine Stewart, Beatrice Drake, Wilfred Heilig, Gerald Heilig, Jeanette Heilig, and Lucille Hintz and many nieces and nephews.

Nicholas is preceded by death by his siblings: Paul, Nona, Clarence, Marcus, Gertrude, Ralph, Genevieve, Bernard, Benjamin, Margaret, William, Winifred, Harold, and Regina.

Per his wishes, cremation has taken place.  A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 17, 2020 at MacAlpine Gage Chapel in Kinde with Fr. Craig Carolan officiating.  Family and friends will gather from 9 a.m. until time of service.  Burial will take place later at New River Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Annunciation of the Lord Parish.

The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Medilodge in Cass City for their excellent care during Nicholas's last weeks.
