Nellie Marie Parr, 76, of Bad Axe passed away peacefully on November 12, 2014 at Courtney Manor in Bad Axe.
Nellie was born on November 20, 1937 to the late John W. and Anna (Vesich) Gage in Bad Axe, Michigan.
She was united in marriage to John Parr. He preceded her in death in 1999.
Nellie graduated from Bad Axe High School in 1956. She worked at Walmart as a cashier, prior to that she was co-owner of The Country House Restaurant in Caseville for about twenty years. Nellie enjoyed sailing, sewing, riding a motorcycle, shopping and spending time with her granddaughter Tinelle.
Nellie is survived by three sisters, Goldie (Orin) Robinson of Bad Axe, Helen Mitchell of Columbiaville and Linda (John) Fladzinski of Bad Axe; sister in law Gail (Steve) Forgacs of Harbor Springs; granddaughter Tinelle McKay of Caseville; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and many cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John; daughter Arnel McKay and brothers Robert, John and Teddy Gage.
Funeral service will be held on Friday, November 14th at 3:30 pm.
Visitation will be Friday, November 14th from 2 – 3:30 pm at MacAlpine Funeral Home – Mac Chapel in Bad Axe.
Memorials may be offered to the Family Discretionary Fund.
