Filion
Mary Marguerite Nichol, 88 years old of Filion, passed away peacefully at her home with her husband Bob by her side, on January 16, 2024. Mary was born on January 14, 1936 to the late Edward and Helen (LePla) Haller, at her childhood home in Bad Axe, Michigan. On June 30, 1956, she and her high school sweetheart, Robert Nichol were married, and their love story spanned a lifetime of over 67 years.

She loved to read and often carried an "extra" book in case she finished one. She always enjoyed hearing about her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and watching them grow and bringing joy to those that loved them.
Mary is survived by her husband Bob; children Edward (Cindy) Nichol, Elizabeth Bowers, Catherine (Walt Salens) Osborn, Roberta (Dave) Weiss, Victoria (Kevin) Tomaszewski; her sister and brother-in-law Sharon and Grant Carman; grandchildren Justin Nichol, Ben Bowers, Jeremy (Sarah) Bowers, David (Meghan) Bowers, Leah (Nicholas) Caputo), Sarah Sawdon, Emily Sawdon, Hannah Sawdon, Rachel Sawdon, Carissa Moore, Isabelle Rutkowski, Gabriel Rutkowski; great-grandchildren Abigail, Alex, Jerome, Jullian, Jayla, Alanna, Thomas, Tysen, Alyssa, Noah, Natalie, Carter, Marshal; many nieces and nephews, and special family friends, Bob and Linda Koroleski. She is also survived by her sisters and brothers-in-law Margaret Hanson, Lynda Nichol, Sayre Nichol, John (Mary Catherine) Nichol.
Mary was preceded in death by her son-in-law Randy Bowers; sisters and their husbands Charlotte (Joe) Tinklepaugh, Lois (Wayne) Billiot, Virginia (Thomas) Tageson; brothers and sisters-in-law Robert Hanson, Jeremiah Nichol, Kathleen Nichol, Shirley and Andy Hinton.
