Loraine L. Hartsell, 66, of Bad Axe, went to be with her husband, Gordon, on Saturday, March 14, 2015 following a long fought battle.
Loraine was born June 2, 1948 in Harbor Beach to the late Orville and Dorothy (Ventline) Hill. She married Gordon L. Hartsell on September 23, 1966 in Bad Axe. He preceded her in death on November 14, 1990.
Loraine worked at Thumb Plastics, Inc. in Bad Axe for many years where she made many great friends. She enjoyed her flowers, cooking and spending time with family, especially her great grandchildren. They always put a smile on her face.
Loraine is survived by her daughters, Shannon Schafer and her fiancé Michael Ventline of Bad Axe, and Julie Hunley of Bad Axe; her grandchildren Steven (Cassandra) Michalski of Bad Axe, Aaron Russell of Bad Axe and many others; her great grandchildren Seth and Skyler Michalski; her brother Dennis (Linda) Hill of Harbor Beach, sisters Theresa (Sylvester) Smeader of Florida; sister in law, Martha Hill of Cass City; half-brother James Kirsch of Bad Axe and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brothers Arthur and Edward.
Mass of Christian burial will be 11 am on Wednesday, March 18th at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Fr. Robert Howe officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2 – 8 pm on Tuesday, March 17th at MacAlpine Funeral Home in Bad Axe and from 10 am until time of service on Wednesday, March 18th at the church.
Memorials may be offered to the Family Discretionary Fund.
