Linda Marie
Rhoades
Oct 14, 1950 — May 11, 2026
Bad Axe
Mrs. Linda M. Rhoades, 75, of Bad Axe, gained her wings peacefully at home, surrounded by loved ones, on May 11, 2026.
Linda was born in Pigeon, Michigan, to the late John and Jean (Connors) Guster and attended Caseville Public Schools.
As a young woman, Linda enjoyed being active. She was a first-degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do. She also taught Tae Kwon Do classes a couple of times a week. Linda also enjoyed powerlifting and held the state record for the 113 lb. weight division for a time. She also had a love for horses. Starting at a young age, she started learning and riding, and she passed this love on to her kids and grandkids, teaching them the equestrian ways. Linda also spent some time as the Bad Axe Junior High equestrian team coach. She loved to travel with her horses, and the people she met along the way became friendships that lasted a lifetime. Linda was also active in the local 4-H for many years, working with the youth.
Linda had many roles over the years, from housewife to the Thumb Area transit, to managing hotels and cooking in kitchens. Her most recent role was as a women's advocate at the Huron County Safe Place. She had a gift for being passionate about helping others, but her greatest role was being a Grandma.
Along with her parents, Linda is also preceded in death by her father-in-law Lawrence Rhoades, mother-in-law Roberta (Hunt) Rhoades; sister Julie (Guster) Langley; brother Mark Guster; and daughter Shannon (Swartzendruber) Dropiewski.
She is survived by her husband Raoul Rhoades; daughter Brenda Swartzendruber; son-in-law David Dropiewski; grandchildren Megan (Daniel) Brann, Nicole (Brian) LeClair and Matthew (Melissa) Leppek; great-grandchildren Cole, Kinsley and Emily; sister-in-law Paula (Mark) Guster and brother-in-law in Jim (Julie) Langley.
A Celebration of Life for Linda is being arranged for a later date.
Memorials may be offered in Linda's name in c/o of Raoul.
