Obituary

Lillian Sophie PAGE was born to David and Christina (BOOMS) PAGE on September 12, 1933, the 8 th of 14 children.

Lillian was born to eternal life on March 23, 2014.

She married Robert (who got mom her first doll) COVE in 1955, lost a newborn daughter, Mary Lynn, in 1956, and had a son, Steven in 1959.  Robert was killed in a construction accident when Lillian was pregnant with Debra.  Lilly met her second husband Lawrence Ahearn through Larry's sister Irene, whose husband died in the same construction accident.  Together Lawrence and Lillian raised five children, Kathy, Janis, Jim, Pat, and Tom.  They worked the family farm for 28 years.

Lillian's faith in the Lord Jesus Christ enabled her to cope with debilitating depression, colon cancer, congestive heart failure, death of her youngest son, Tom, at age 30, and dementia.

Qualities the family will remember about Lillian include:

  • A unique sense of humor and her robust laugh
  • A never failing moral compass
  • An appreciation for God's daily miracles – the birth of a newborn calf, finding the first strawberry or the sprouting of a spring bulb.
  • Learning to play guitar at age 47, singing "Chocolate Ice Cream", and "Oh How I love Jesus".
  • Not complaining about the hard work of farm life.

Survivors include 6 children, 20 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 7 siblings; Leroy, Bert, Rose, Marion, Clarence, Joe, and Florence.  Welcoming her in heaven are siblings: Raymond, Rita, George, Margaret, Romanus, and Marcella.

A special thanks to the Courtney Manor Staff for their loving care of mom for the past 13 years.
