Karen Ann Nieschulz, 76 years old of Bad Axe, passed away on Wednesday, January 24, 2024. Karen was born in Bad Axe on December 30, 1947 to the late Jack and Barbara (Filion) Maurer.

Karen retired from Huron County Central Dispatch after 29 years of service. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, going on adventures, crocheting, doing puzzles, and watching game shows. She loved the company of her two little kitties, Jazzy and Leelee.

Karen is survived by her children; Jodi Nieschulz, Jaimi (Joe Medo), Jeffery (Chelli) Nieschulz; grandchildren Josh (Lizzy) Nieschulz, Carley (Jared) Carlson, Hannah (Evan) Fluegge, Corbyn (Olivia) Gilbert, Kyla Gilbert; great grandchildren Jaycee and Elijah Carlson, Esme Fluegge; sisters Dianne (Vern) Glaza, Sandra (David) Appold; brothers John (Dawn) Maurer, Steve Maurer and numerous nieces and nephews.

A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Per Karen's wishes cremation has taken place at Sunset Valley Crematory.

Memorials may be offered in Karen's name to the Thumb Animal Shelter in Elkton, Michigan.
