Joyce E. Fritz, 86, of Zephyrhills, Florida, formerly of Elkton, East Detroit and Kinde, passed away peacefully on November 19, 2016.

She was born in Detroit, Michigan on July 24, 1930 to the late John E. and Verda (Hazard) Lackie II.

Joyce graduated from Elkton High School in 1948.

On March 25, 1950, she married Willard Fritz.   He preceded her in death on February 22, 2008.

Joyce was a devoted member of the United Methodist Church of Zephyrhills, Florida, where she was active in Sunday school class.   In her younger years, she was an avid bowler.   Joyce also enjoyed playing golf and swimming.  She always was a lifetime member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Joyce is survived by her daughters: Carol Rush, Diane Patterson and Kathleen (Tim) Fisher and "adopted daughter" Marybeth Herrmann; six grandchildren: David Patterson, Darran Patterson, Kristy Phillips, Lisa Smith, Melissa Stark and Richard Rush; 10 great grandchildren; brother: John Lackie and many nieces and nephews.

Joyce was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Richard Rush and sister, Shirley Holtzhouse.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. on Friday, June 9, 2017 at the MacAlpine Mac Chapel in Bad Axe with Pastor Philip Tousley, pastor of Bad Axe United Methodist Church, officiating.  A gathering will be from 10 a.m. until time of service.   Burial will take place at Colfax Township Cemetery.

Memorials may be offered to Blue Water Youth for Christ.
