Johnny James Saliard, age 82, of Colfax Township, passed away Tuesday, April 08, 2014 at the Huron Medical Center of Bad Axe.

He was born July 11, 1931 in Berkley, Michigan to the late John and Ermine (Seigueurie) Saliard.

He was united in marriage to Donna Jane Huff on April 4, 1954 in Romeo, Michigan.  She preceded him in death on April 26, 2011 after 57 years of marriage.

Johnny was a Corporal in the U.S. Army and served in the Korean War. He worked for the Wade Foster Company in Bad Axe and the Port Austin Level Factory in Port Austin. He was employed at Michigan Oven for 20 years and retired in 1993. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and his dogs. He is survived by his children, Scott (Colleen) Saliard of Bad Axe and Sheila (Conrad) Vigenski of Filion; two grandsons, Chris Tinsey of Bad Axe and Charley (Bethany) Saliard of Farmington Hills, Michigan; great-grandson, Jesse Tinsey of Bad Axe; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Michelle Marie Saliard; his sisters, Ester Henry and Corrine Smith.

Memorials may be offered to the Huron County Animal Shelter.

A private family service will be held at a later date.
