John W. Forbing Sr., 77 years old of Filion, passed away on June 10, 2025 at Flint Select Medical Hospital, with his wife Cynthia by his side. John was born on December 25, 1947 to the late Seymour and Irene (Perdue) Forbing.

On April 25, 1970, he married the love of his life Cynthia Kosinski. This year marked 55 years of married life together.

John loved to hunt and fish and could always be seen walking for many miles up and down the road. He enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family and especially his grand-children.

John is survived by his wife Cynthia and children; John Jr. (Debbie) from Saginaw, Jeff (Heather) from Pinconning, Darrin (Angie) from Filion and Kim Forbing (special friend Tyler Samons) living in Cass City, grandchildren; Zachary, Rylee, Skylar, Tyler, Hailey, Brennan, Lucas, Mason, Rosalie and Clara, great-grandchild Peyton.

He is also survived by his brothers; Charlie (Gayle), Dan, Edwin (Joann), Thomas (Hanne), Randy (Wendy), sisters; Neva Finkbeiner, Barbara (Jack) Peck, sister-in-law Susan Nazem, step siblings; Ruthie Mainguy, Larry (Beth) Armstead, Dave (Barb) Armstead, and many nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-mom Mary (Armstead) Forbing, brothers Seymour and his wife Judy, Robert and Paul, sisters; Beverly Deeg and her husband Harold, June Jackson, Emma Goyette and her husband Tom and Betty Forbing;  brother-in-law Robert Finkbeiner, step sibling; Nancy Armstead, and step brother-in-law John Mainguy, and great grandchild Jace.

Per John's wishes, cremation has taken place at Sunset Valley Crematory in Bay City, Michigan.

A Memorial Service for John Sr. will be held on July 10, 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Sebewaing Township Hall.
