Jill Elizabeth Nieten, 50, of Dwight Township, passed away on March 13, 2016.

She was born in Bad Axe on August 12, 1965 to Doreen (Stone) Clark and the late Ralph Nieten.

Jill graduated from Bad Axe High School in 1984. She was in the U.S. Air Force. Jill loved nature, including bird and squirrel watching, and gardening. She was an avid reader and loved spending time with her friends.

She is survived by her significant other, Dan Gottchalk of Dwight Township; son, Nathan Olsen of Arkansas and her daughter Jacqueline Neuron of Pennsylvania; three grandchildren; mother and step-father, Doreen and James Clark of Fort Pierce, Florida; sisters: Dawn Pettie of Battle Creek and Sheri Lasceski of Bad Axe; brother: Gregg Nieten of Bad Axe; several nieces and nephews and numerous friends.

Visitation will be Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at the MacAlpine Gage Chapel in Kinde from 3 – 7:30 pm with military service at 5pm and a prayer service at 7:30 pm, officiated by Rev. William O'Nan. Cremation will take place after the service at Sunset Valley Crematory in Bay City.

Memorials may be offered to the Port Austin Library or the American Cancer Society.
