James Charles Maurer, 79, of Colfax Twp., passed away on May 14, 2021 at his home.

He was born in Bad Axe, Michigan on July 25, 1941 to the late Vincent and Evelyn (Bannick) Maurer.

Jim worked at Active Industries for many years.  He enjoyed watching the deer and birds in his back yard.

James is survived by his siblings: Sherry (Douglas) Roberts of Elkton, Julie (Gregory) Craig of Bad Axe and Randy Maurer of Bad Axe.  He is also survived by brothers-in-law: Joe Brenner and Lee Ferris; several nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his siblings: Della (Bill) Anderson, Don (Lila) Maurer, Rick (Debra) Maurer, Trudy Brenner, Connie Arntz and Linda Ferris and sister-in-law, Mary Ann Maurer.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at the MacAlpine Funeral Home with Rev. William O'Nan officiating.  Burial will follow at Colfax Township Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of service.
