James R. Edwards Jr., 74, of Bad Axe, passed away peacefully on April 9, 2019 with his family by his side at Huron Co. Medical Care Facility under hospice care.

Jim was born in Detroit, Michigan on March 20, 1945 to the late James Edwards Sr. and Beatrice (McFarland) Edwards.

He graduated from Bad Axe High School in 1963.  Jim worked as the Produce Manager at McDonald's Food and Family Center for over twenty years.   He also was a bus driver for the Thumb Area Transit and owned Jim's Sporting Goods in Bad Axe.

He was an avid sports fan.  Jim especially loved University of Michigan football, Detroit Lions and the Detroit Tigers.   He used to coach Little League in his younger years.  Jim loved spending time with his family, especially his granddaughters.

Jim is survived by his three daughters: Kim Edwards (Dan Schmidt) of Bad Axe, Sue (Neil) Nuncio of Pigeon and Chris (Jeff) Johnson of Goshen, Indiana; four grandchildren: Chelsey (Casey) Monette, Sydni Nuncio, Jaylee and Bailee Johnson.; and one great-granddaughter: Naomi.  He is also survived by his sisters: Audrey Bucholtz of Bad Axe and Lorraine (Alan) Kundinger of Sebewaing; along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Jim was preceded in death by his brother, Dennis Edwards.

The family would like to thank everyone at Huron County Medical Care Facility especially the wonderful staff on the third floor.

Per Jim's wishes, cremation has taken place at Sunset Valley Crematory in Bay City.

Memorial service for Jim will be on Saturday, April 13, 2019 at 2 p.m. at the MacAlpine Funeral Home in Bad Axe with Mel McCracken officiating.

Gathering will be from 4 – 8 p.m. on Friday, April 12, 2019 at the MacAlpine Funeral Home in Bad Axe and on Saturday from 1 p.m. until time of service.
