Irene (Lenda) Krug, age 91, of Bad Axe passed away peacefully on January 7, 2021.

Irene was one of fourteen children and was born on July 29, 1929, in Owendale, Michigan; the daughter of the late Walter and Cecilia (Stopczynski) Lenda.

Irene married Jack D. Krug on October 6, 1956.  Jack preceded her in death on August 12, 1986.  They were blessed with a family of three children.

Irene attended Northeastern School of Commerce in Bay City.  She worked for the Bad Axe Public Schools in the Board of Education office for 25 years.  Irene was an active member of the Bad Axe Free Methodist Church and belonged to the Women's Ministries International.  She was a past member of the Huron Medical Center Auxiliary, volunteering to work as a greeter and in the gift shop of the hospital.

Irene is survived by her sons: Brad Krug and his special friend, Sally Voss, of Caro and Mark (Monica) Krug of Bad Axe; her daughter: Lori (Ron) Schornack of Bad Axe; 5 grandchildren: Eric (Ashley) Schornack, Sara Schornack, Tanner, Mason and Jenna Krug; 1 great-grandson: Lincoln Schornack; and her sister, Welda Gilbert.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Tracy Schave for all the loving care given to our mother; along with Pat Guigar, Rita Guigar and Jeanne Metzger.

Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at the Bad Axe Free Methodist Church.

Mass of Christian burial will immediately follow at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Jerry Sutton officiating.  Burial will be at Colfax Township Cemetery, arrangements handled by MacAlpine Funeral Home of Bad Axe.

Memorials may be offered to the Bad Axe Free Methodist Church Food Pantry.
