Irene Jackson, 91, formerly of Shelby Township, passed away peacefully on January 7, 2020 under hospice care at the Questover Assisted Living in Port Austin.

She was born in Glasgow, Scotland on October 3, 1928 to the late James and Rosemary Beveridge.

Irene was united in marriage to Donald Jackson on August 20, 1947 in Scotland.  He preceded her in death on February 18, 2010.

She was a member of St. Thomas Community Presbyterian Church in Shelby Township.   Irene enjoyed gardening, baking her famous short-bread cookies, going on walks, dancing and singing.

Irene is survived by her children: Irene (Mark) Larson of Washington, Michigan, James (Sherry) Jackson of Sterling Heights, daughter-in-law: Diane Jackson of Royal Oak, Gordon Jackson of Algonac, Eleanor Wild of Colorado; ten grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.

Irene was preceded in death by her son, Alan Jackson; and her siblings: Harry, Margaret, May and Ella.

Per Irene's wishes, cremation has taken place at Sunset Valley Crematory in Bay City, Michigan.  A memorial service will take place 11 a.m. at St. Thomas Community Presbyterian Church in Shelby Township on Saturday, January 25, 2020 with Rev. Dr. James Monnett officiating.  Gathering will be from 10 a.m. until time of service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be offered to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America.
