Fredrick W. Elvin, 70, of Bad Axe and formerly of Rochester, passed away on July 6, 2018 under Heartland hospice care.

Fred was born in Bad Axe on August 24, 1947 to the late William and Bonnita (Marsa) Elvin.

He owned and operated Elvin Construction, an excavating company for over 30 years.  He loved playing in the dirt and inventing things.   He was a member of the Inventor's Council of Mid-Michigan.

Fred is survived by his significant other, Carol Wahl of Bad Axe and his brothers, Frank Elvin and his wife, Marcia of Metamora, Michigan and Larry Elvin of Imlay City; along with several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Kathy Elvin.

Per Fred's wishes, cremation has taken place at Sunset Valley Crematory in Bay City, Michigan.
