Obituary

Frank W. Sageman, 89, of Bad Axe passed away suddenly on May 6, 2015 at Huron Medical Center.

Frank was born on March 14, 1926 in Bingham Township to the late Robert and Margaret (McFarland) Sageman.

On October 17, 1953, Frank married Donna M. Ziehm at the Owendale Community of Christ Church.

Frank graduated from Bad Axe High School in 1943. He was a beef and cash crop farmer for 38 years until health problems caused him to retire. Frank truly loved farming and kept up on all the latest methods through reading farm magazines and taking classes offered in the area. He was very mechanical and never bought a piece of farm equipment that he didn't find a way of improving. Frank received United States and Canadian Patents on a corn machine he invented to improve the quality of corn silage. After retirement he collected toy farm tractors and built several beautiful layouts of model trains in his basement. Frank was a member of the Thumb Two Cylinder Club for a while – John Deere being his favorite brand of machinery. He enjoyed the Breakfast Club that he was a part of for over 20 years. Frank's family always came first. He was so proud of his sons and grandchildren.

Frank is survived by his wife, Donna, of 61 years; sons Richard (Terri) Sageman and Ronald (Kimberly) Sageman, both of Rockford; his grandchildren Andrea, Adam, Jennifer and Rachel; and many nieces and nephews.

He was the last survivor of his siblings: his brothers, James (Hazel), Norman (Helen), Clarence (Joan) and Carl (Ida) and sisters Annie (Clarence) Seamen, Mary (Arthur) Sandow, and Martha Sageman.

Funeral service will be 11 am Saturday, May 9th at the MacAlpine Mac Chapel in Bad Axe with Karen & Steve Bouverette officiating.

Visitation will be 2 – 8 pm Friday, May 8th and 10 am until time of service on Saturday at MacAlpine Mac Chapel.
