Florence (Bodis) Kanaski, age 98, of Kinde, passed away on August 19, 2018 at Courtney Manor in Bad Axe, Michigan.

She was born May 24, 1920 in Dwight Township to the late Frank and Mary (Baranski) Bodis.

On October 26, 1940, she was united in marriage to Edward Kanaski at ST. Michael Catholic Church in Port Austin.  He preceded her in death on April 10, 1982.

Florence was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Dwight Township and a member of the Holy Rosary Sodality.  When she was younger, she held office in the Kinde Senior Citizens Group.  She enjoyed traveling, flowers, cooking, visiting the casinos and spending time with family and friends.

She is survived by her daughters: Joann Bolda and her husband, Charles of Mio, Carol Gentner and her husband, Melvin of Ruth, Marjorie Clancy and her husband, Carl of Armanda and foster daughter, Margaret Morden of Ruth; ten grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren and five great great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.  She is also survived by a sister-in-law, Catherine Bodis.

Florence was preceded in death by her brothers: Raymond, Stanley, Edward, Leo and Chester Bodis.

Mass of Christian burial will be 11 a.m. on Friday, August 24, 2018 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Dwight Township (Kinde) with Fr. Craig Carolan officiating.  Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Visitation will take place 3 – 9 p.m. on Thursday, August 23, 2018 at the MacAlpine Gage Chapel in Kinde and on Friday from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. at the Gage Chapel only.

Memorials may be offered to Compassus Hospice or to the Activities Fund at Courtney Manor.
