Bad Axe
Ethel Nancy Greyerbiehl, 84 years old of Bad Axe, passed away at her home on December 25, 2022 with her son John by her side. She was born on October 27, 1938 to the late Raymond and Emma (Lagalo) Bamberger. Ethel married John "Jack" Greyerbiehl on October 13, 1973. He preceded her on death on April 14, 1997.
After graduating from Saginaw High School, Ethel worked in the County courthouse in Saginaw before moving to Bad. She worked as the branch manager at the Secretary of State office in Bad Axe for many years before her retirement. She was a very generous and caring person with a big heart for sharing with others. She volunteered for years teaching people to read, did testing for people getting their driver's license, and was the original owner of the Warehouse Skate Park in Bad Axe. Ethel loved to donate to Toys for Tots, and also enjoyed doing pottery, crocheting and cross stitch. Kain and Remi, her four legged "babies' were her constant companions. She was a member of St. Hubert Parish / Sacred Heart Church in Bad Axe, Michigan.
Ethel is survived by her son John and his fiancé Rebecca Herrington, of Bad Axe, her brother Frank (Carol) Bamberger, and sister Carol Ann Soule. She was preceded in death by her husband John, brother Ray Bamberger and sister Rosemary Fisk.
John would like to thank Rebecca for all of her loving care, and unselfish help she gave to Mom during her many years of illness. A heartfelt thank you also goes to Seasons change Hospice and all of the many people that became a part of her care during these years.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 30, 2022 from 11:00-1:00 at the MacAlpine Mac Chapel in Bad Axe, with a prayer service following at 1:00 PM.
