Dorothy M. McArdle, 94, of Colfax Township, passed away peacefully at her home on November 4, 2018 under Compassus hospice care.

She was born on January 12, 1924 in Colfax Township to the late James and Fayme (Ball) Leckenby.

On February 8, 1947, she married the love of her life, Robert F. McArdle at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Bad Axe.  He preceded her in death on February 2, 2015.

Dorothy was a skilled seamstress.   She was an avid reader, loved to play scrabble and enjoyed quilting.  She loved to travel and camp with family and the Good Sam's Club.

She is survived by her daughter, Linda McArdle-Oeschger and her husband, Dale, of Bay Port; her daughter-in-law, Marla McArdle of Hillsdale; her grandchildren: Corey Oeschger and his wife, Sarah; Christopher Oeschger and his wife, Katie; Jacklyn McArdle and Jessica Butler and her husband, Dustin;  her three great-grandchildren: Clara, Oliver, and William.  Her great grandchildren were the apple of her eye and she looked forward to their visits.  She was anticipating the arrival of great-grandchild #4.  Dorothy is also survived by many nieces and nephews including Gail, Lori, Renee and the late Charlene McBride.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her son, Dennis McArdle; her brothers, Leland, Carl and Don; and her sister, Buelah.

Funeral service for Dorothy will be 11 a.m. on Thursday, November 8, 2018 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Fr. Rob Howe officiating.   Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at the MacAlpine Mac Chapel from 2 to 8 p.m. and on Thursday at the church from 10 a.m. until time of service.

Memorials may be offered to be used at the family's discretion.
