Obituary

Doris Joan Davis of Bad Axe passed away Friday, April 1 9, 2024 just two days before her 90th birthday celebration, at McLaren Thumb Region after a brief illness.  She was born April 21, 1934 at the Pigeon Hospital to Solomon Jr. & Hattie (Fahndich) Kropp.  She is a 1951 graduate of Pigeon High School.  She married Roy Junior (RJ) Davis on August 1, 1953 at Salem EUB Church.  She is a Member of the Salem Church.

Doris was a devoted mom and homemaker taking care of not only her children, grandchildren and many other children through the years.  She worked at Pigeon State Bank,  Scenic Golf Course, Douglas Buehler, OD and Wash King Laundry from19 84 until its closing in December 2012.  When Doris was 25 years old she was in a severe car accident.  She broke her hip and was forced on bed rest for 11 weeks.  Over the years she had four hip replacements and because of the accident and the hard work of the laundry caused many other health issues, none of which kept her from working hard.  Since retiring, she loves doing puzzles and sending out hundreds of birthday & holiday cards to friends and family.  She loved watching the deer, squirrels and birds in her yard.

She is survived by daughters Rhonda (Douglas) Buehler of Pigeon, Roslyn (Charles) Nagel of Bad Axe, and Rochelle (Fred) Kinnee of Ubly.  Grandchildren Matthew (Ann) Buehler of Melbourne, FL, Garret (Joanna) Buehler of Columbus, OH,  Crystal (Nathan) Stomack of Croswell,  Nicole (Peter) Russo of Royal Oak,  Great Granchildren, Lydia & Katherine Buehler,  Cleo & Jensen Stomack,  Landon & Blake Russo. Brother Harold Kropp, Pigeon, in-laws Barbara Kropp & Mary Kropp.

She was preceded in death by her parents, spouse, brothers Donald and Willard Kropp, in-laws, Roger Davis, Judy Davis, Lonnie Davis, Diane Kropp and nephew Donald Kropp Jr and niece Angela Kropp

A 90th Birthday celebration was planned for Sunday, April 21 from 1 to 4 at her home (675 Allan Court, Bad Axe). The family will continue with an open house visitation in celebration of her life.

Per her wishes cremation has taken place at Sunset Valley Crematory in Bay City. A  Memorial Service will be held at MacAlpine Funeral Home Mac Chapel in Bad Axe, Monday, April 22 at 11:00 am with Rev.
