Donald James Schorsch Sr., 83, of Port Austin township passed away on September 30, 2014 with family by his side at Mid-Michigan Medical Center in Midland.
Donald was born on February 20, 1931 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Michael and Catherine (Bambach) Schorsch.
On November 11, 1952, Donald married Sylvia Elisabeth MacLeod in Maryland.
Donald served his nation as a U.S. Marine and served his community as a police officer for 25 years in Warren, Michigan. Don was a member of the Masons and the Fraternal Order of Police. He enjoyed woodworking, reading, gardening and light farming.
Donald is survived by his wife, Sylvia of 61 years; son Donald Jr. (Vicky) Schorsch of Ray, Michigan; daughter Marcia Sommerville of Macomb, Michigan; grandchildren Meggan Julian and Angela Schorsch; along with several nieces and nephews.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Michelle, and brothers Frank and Michael Schorsch.
Per Donald's wishes, there will not be a funeral service.
