David Arthur Boyce, Sr, age 73, of Bad Axe, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at his home.
He was born April 4, 1941 in Detroit to the late Arthur Franklin and Alice Mary (Flynnham) Boyce.
David was a certified welder and worked as a roofer in construction. He enjoyed Nascar, fishing and hunting and spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his children, Jeffrey Boyce of Bad Axe, George Schollaert of Florida, Ronda (Roy) Hamell of Bad Axe, David Jr. (Kimberly) of Bad Axe, Tracey Webb of Bad Axe, Michael (Kandi) Boyce of Bad Axe, Michelle (Nathan) Schember of Caseville, Shyan Boyce of Bad Axe, and Jodi Boyce of Detroit; several brothers and sisters, with the closest brothers being Donald (Doris) Boyce of Bad Axe, Jim (Judy) Boyce of Cass City, and Fred (Helen) Boyce of Texas, and closest sisters, Nancy (Esper) Swanton of Florida and Sharon (Brent) Meyers of Nevada; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Special thanks to caregivers, Robert Boyce, Debbie Reese, Chris Peltiere and all others who gave him special care.
David was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia (Smith) on July 22, 2011; a son in-law, Ron Webb.
There will be a memorial service at Community Wesleyan Church in Elkton on August 7, 2013 at 6:00 p.m. for David and his wife, Patricia.
