Clara I. Ventline, 88, of Port Austin, passed away peacefully on January 23, 2017 under the care at Courtney Manor in Bad Axe.

Clara worked at Lakeside Motor Lodge in Port Austin for over thirty years.  She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church/Annunciation of the Lord Parish.  She was the perfect host; you would never leave her house with an empty stomach.  Clara loved walking in parks and beaches, collecting rocks.  She loved watching basketball especially March Madness.  But most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her sisters: Nancy Detgen and Carol Badgley.

Mass of Christian burial will take place 11 a.m. on Friday, January 27, 2017 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Port Austin with Fr. Craig Carolan officiating.  Burial will take place at the church cemetery.

Visitation for Clara will be 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, January 26, 2017 at the MacAlpine Gage Chapel in Kinde, Michigan and from 10 am until time of service at the church on Friday, January 27, 2017.

Clara's family would like to extend a big thank you to the Courtney Manor staff for providing loving care, love and friendship for the last fourteen years.  We will always be grateful for you.
