It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Cheryl Ann (Nicholson) Lapka, of Kinde, 55 years old, on Friday December 10, 2021 from a long battle with COVID.

Cheryl was born on September 6, 1966 to Edward and Mary Nicholson.

Cheryl married Tim Lapka on May 26, 2006. They were married for 15 years, and made their home in the Kinde area. Cheryl enjoyed being a homemaker, gardening, working on numerous crafts, cooking and baking, and her biggest joy was the time she spent with her children and grandchildren.

Cheryl is survived by her husband Tim, parents Ed and Mary Nicholson; children: Nicholas, Kelsey, Lauren, Ryleigh, and Lindsey (Brian); her grandchildren: Makenzie, Madelyn, Kacyn, Edward and Daniel; her sisters: Wendy (Mark) Franks, their children Jacob, Jordan, Chelsea; Heidi (Kirk) Histed and daughter Hope; Marcy (Heath) Wehrman and son Elisha; She is also survived by her brothers –in-law: Richard (Sharon) Sobzak, Charles Lapka, Andrew (Sue) Lapka;  sister-in-law, Deborah Lapka; and uncle Paul Santhany.

She was preceded in death by an infant brother; her grandparents, Nelson and Irene Santhany, Edward and Erna Nicholson; and sister-in-law Sally Lapka, and uncle Don Santhany.

Per Cheryl's wishes, cremation has taken place at Sunset Valley Crematory in Bay City, Michigan.

A Celebration of her life will be held at 5 p.m. on Monday, December 20, 2021 at the MacAlpine Funeral Home in Bad Axe with Rev. William O'Nan officiating.  Family and friends may gather at the funeral home from 12 noon until time of service.

MASKS WILL BE MANDATORY AT THE FUNERAL HOME.

Memorials may be offered to the family in care of her husband, Tim Lapka.
