Catherine J. Rapson, 90, of Bad Axe, passed away on September 9, 2014 at Courtney Manor.
Catherine was born on August 1, 1924 in Bad Axe to the late Michael and Mabel (Patterson) Slavin.
Catherine was united in marriage to Carl F. Rapson on May 1, 1946 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Bad Axe.
Kate graduated from Bad Axe High School in 1942. She was an executive secretary at Selective Service Board and for Rapson Refrigeration. Kate was an Advanced Pilot in the US Power Squadron and a frequent lecture at Sacred Heart Church of Bad Axe. She also enjoyed reading, computers, playing bridge, loved dogs and spending time with family and friends.

Catherine is survived by her sons Rick (Linda) Rapson of Texas, Dave (Mary) Rapson of Bad Axe, Chris (Carol) Rapson of Bad Axe, Robert (Lisa) Rapson of East Lansing; six grandchildren: Rod (Lynn) of Bad Axe, David (Lisa) of Traverse City, Robert (Jennifer) of Okemos, Eric and Emily of Texas, and Jessica (Jeff) Peshinski of Southgage; and thirteen great-grandchildren; sister Margaret Kelly of Caseville and many nieces and nephews.

Catherine was preceded in death by her loving husband, Carl, of 52 years; son Steven; brothers Michael, James, Thomas, Stanley, Martin and John Slavin; sisters Evelyn Livingston, Irene Slavin, Anastasia McLeod and Flora Jankowski.

Mass of Christian burial will take place on Friday, September 12th at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Bad Axe.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 11th from 2:00 p.m.to 8:00 p.m. at MacAlpine Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. and from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Friday at the church. Burial will take place at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.

Memorials may be offered to St. Hubert Parish (Sacred Heart), Bad Axe Area Library or donor's choice.
