Carol "Marie" Wahl, 84, of Verona Township, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on August 18, 2018 at her home under hospice care.

Marie was born in Bad Axe, Michigan on December 24, 1933 to the late Emmet and Carol (Haller) Rose.

She graduated from Bad Axe High School in 1951.   In June 1951, she married Otto Andrew Wahl.  He preceded her in death on February 21, 2011.

Marie worked at the Bad Axe Sears for over twenty years, working her way up from counter clerk to manager; she also worked at Rite Aid and was the Verona Township Treasurer for twenty years.  Her hobbies included spending time in her garden, painting, leather working, knitting, crocheting, birdwatching and traveling.

Marie is survived by her children: Carol J. Wahl of Bad Axe, Andrew Wahl and his wife, Cara of Bay Point, California, Julie Wahl of Anchorage, Alaska and Steven Wahl and his wife, Debra of Bad Axe; her grandchildren: Erin Bisco, Eric (Emily) Bisco, Ian Stone (and special friend, Jamie), Alesha (Aaron) Schramski and Emily Wahl; and great-grandchildren: Kinley, Patrick, Cambry and Sophie.  She is also survived by her brother, Robert Rose and his wife, Sue of Mason, Michigan; many nieces and nephews; and her very close life-long friend Nettie Whear of Bad Axe.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Ann M. Wahl.

Funeral service for Marie will be 11 a.m. on Monday, August 20, 2018 at the MacAlpine Funeral Home in Bad Axe.  Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until time of service.  Per Marie's wishes, cremation will follow at Sunset Valley Crematory in Bay City, Michigan.   Cremation burial will take place at a later date at Verona Township Cemetery.
