Bernice Elsie Hass, 96 years old of Kinde, passed away on Friday, January 26, 2024 at Huron County Medical Care Facility in Bad Axe. Bernice was born on May 21, 1927 to the late Benjamin and Lydia (Ewald) Sattelberg. Bernice and Harold Hass were married on December 14, 1946 at Columbus Corners Lutheran Church in Unionville, Michigan. Harold preceded her in death in 1997.

Bernice worked side by side with her husband on their family farm, while taking care of her family and running her household. Bernice was a member of the Ladies Aid, was on the missionary league and alter guild. She enjoyed going to Senior Citizens, loved dances, enjoyed playing cards with friends and family, did crocheting and needlepoint and loved baking, gardening and canning and loved to spend time in her flower garden planting gladiolus.

Bernice is survived by her children Leon (Marie) Haas, Linda (Bob) Souva, Dale (Deb) Hass; grandchildren Peter Haas, Vicky (Craig) Ritchie, Steve (Andrea) Souva, Randy (Holly) Souva, Tim (Sue) Souva, Amanda (Chris) McCrea, Kevin (friend Jill) Hass, Karen (Nate) Nichols; great-grandchildren Cradeo, Edward, Emily, Allison, Lauren, Drew, Trinity, Zachary, Layla, Wesley, Zoey, Hailey, Mitchell, Michael, Sadie; step- great grandchildren Brionna, Leigha, Olivia, Jagger; step great-great grandchildren Winston, Lilah, several nieces and nephews; her sister-in-law Betty Sattleberg. She was preceded in death by her brothers Vincent (Joanne) Sattelberg, Raymond (Lois) Sattelberg and her sisters Edna (Elmer) Prime, Beatrice (Franklin) Schulz.

Funeral service for Bernice will be held on Wednesday, January 31, 2024 at 11:00 AM at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Kinde, with Pastor Lueke officiating. Burial will be at Zion-St. Peter Lutheran Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 30, 2024 from 3:00- 8:00 at MacAlpine Gage Chapel in Kinde, and also from 10:00-11:00 on Wednesday at the church.

Memorials may be given in memory of Bernice to St. Peter Lutheran Church.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Huron County Medical Care Facility for the wonderful care and love they gave to Bernice while she lived there for 5 years.
