Beatrice M. Wellman, 86, of Bates City, Missouri, formerly of Port Hope, passed away Sunday July 6, 2014, at her home.
She was born Oct. 5, 1927, in Huron County to the late Murdoch and Mary (Fuller) Day. She was united in marriage to Ward E. Wellman June 4, 1949. He preceded her in death Sept. 8, 1992.
Bea lived in Huron County (Port Hope and Port Austin) most of her life. She moved to Missouri in 2010, to live with her sister Bertha and niece Collette. Bea loved the outdoors, working in her yard, flowers and gardening. She also loved to bake, cook and sew.
Bea is survived by her sisters, Betty Weisenbach of Port Austin and Bertha (John) Broyles of Bates City, Missouri; brothers, George "Art" Day, of Port Austin and Charles (Joanne) Day of Lakeland, Florida; sister-in-law, Rhoda Day of Bates City, Missouri; and many nieces and nephews.
One brother, Grant Day, preceded her in death.
Cremation has taken place. There will be a memorial service on Saturday, August 23rd at 12 noon. It will be at Art Day's home at 4700 Stoddard Rd, Port Austin, Michigan.
