Alfred Martin Halasz, 95 years old of Bad Axe, passed away peacefully on April 1, 2024, at the Huron County Medical Care Facility in Bad Axe.

He was born on August 14, 1928 to the late Martin and Mary Halasz.

On March 8, 1952, he married Delphine Forbes and they celebrated 68 years of marriage. Together they owned and operated the Halasz Potato Farm for most of their married lives. Delphine preceded Alfred in death on September 18, 2020.

Alfred was a member of the Bad Axe First United Methodist Church. Over the years, he enjoyed farming with his wife, bowling, golfing, fishing and hunting.

Alfred is survived by his son David (Debi) Halasz, daughters Sandy Halasz, Jean Halasz-Kandaris, and Judy Halasz-Centala and his sister Pat Huth. Alfred enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, Jacqueline (Phil), Danelle (Kevin), Megan (Nate), Chad (Natalie), Michael (Cassie), Destin (Amanda)  Benjamin, and Jessica (fiancé Jared).

Great grandchildren: Keira, Damian, Owen, Wyatt, Gabrielle, Brooklyn, Evelyn, Eleanor, Seraphina, Cecilia, Brendon, Jayden, and Saria.

Alfred was preceded in death by his wife Delphine, his sister Violet Halasz, brothers' in law Robert Huth, Charles Townley, and Lewis Ostrander, and his sisters' in law Betty Townley and Connie Ostrander.

Visitation for Alfred will be on Saturday, April 6, 2024 at the MacAlpine Funeral Home in Bad Axe from 9:30a.m. until 11:30 a.m. with a memorial service immediately following with Pastor Tim Callow of the First United Methodist Church officiating.
