Allison Dale "A.D." Rapson, age 89, of Colfax Township, passed away peacefully on January 7, 2017 at Rose Garden Senior Living in Pigeon.

Dale was born in Centerline, Michigan on June 19, 1927 to the late Earl T. and Dessalee (Stickle) Rapson.

A.D. was a Sargent and in the Military Police in the U.S. Army from December 1945 – October 1948.  He earned a World War II Victory Medal and an Army of Occupation Medal.

On August 13, 1960, he married Patricia Morley.    She preceded him in death in August 2008.

Dale enjoyed telling stories, going to Big Boy and spending time with his grandkids.  He was also a bus driver for the Laker school district for a while.

A.D. is survived by his sons: Albert Rapson and his wife, Kimberly, of Midland and Richard Wingo of Florida; grandchildren: Taylor and Chloe Rapson; his brother: Darrel Rapson and his wife, Betty, of Pigeon; his sister, Marlene Harbin of Marlette and many nieces and nephews.

Dale was preceded in death by his son, Dale Rapson; and his daughters: Carol (Wingo) Smith and Faye Rapson.

Funeral service will be 12 noon on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at the MacAlpine Mac Chapel in Bad Axe.   Burial with military honors will take place at Colfax Township Cemetery.

Visitation will be 2 – 8 pm on Tuesday, January 10 ^th at the Mac Chapel in Bad Axe and also on Wednesday, January 11 ^th from 11 am until time of service.

Memorials may be offered to the Family Discretionary Fund.
