James Edward Eason, 71 years old of Port Austin, Michigan passed away on Saturday, June 13, 2026 at McLaren Bay Regional Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

James was born on May 14, 1955 to the late Alfred and Elvia (Fuentes) Eason in Detroit, Michigan. He married Debra Durst, the love of his life in June of 1985, and they had recently celebrated 41 years of marriage. Together they raised three children.

James was a wedding photographer and also worked for Ford Motor Company for 22 years, and he had worked for the U.S. Government for 6 years.

James enjoyed photography, making beer and sharing with friends and family, watching the Lions and Tigers games and traveling with Debra. His greatest joy was spending time with his children and grandchildren.

James is survived by his wife Debra; sons Christopher (Carrie) Gordon from Oxford, Mi., Carey (Bambi) Gordon of Oxford, Mi; daughter Jamie (Michael) Cavaliere of Hartland Mi.; grandchildren Jake, Abigail, Cameron, Michael, Joshua, Cailee, and Andrew. He is also survived by his brother Lawrence Eason of Dearborn, Mi., and his sister in law Catherine Eason of Livionia, MI.

Along with his parents, James was preceded in death by his brother David Eason.

Per James' wishes, cremation has taken place at Sunset Valley Crematory in Bay City.

The family will have a Celebration of Life at a later date.
